Natalie — 2026

Natalie 2026
As Friends for Life celebrates 20 years of raising awareness about the impact of childhood cancer and the need for additional funding, we are honoring Natalie, our original ambassador in 2006, as our ambassador for 2026.
Natalie was first diagnoses with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) in 2006. She relapsed in 2008 and had a bone marrow transplant.
After graduating from Georgetown University in 2019, she spent several years conducting cancer research in labs at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City and City of Hope in Los Angeles.
In July 2026, Natalie began a dual MD/Biomedical Engineering Master’s program at Arizona State University. She is excited and honored to be a member of the inaugural class for Arizona State University. She exemplifies the grit needed to manage her health and pursue her dream to become a physician. This grit is evident in all of our ambassadors and their families.

Natalie would like the funds raised to go to her original bone Marrow Transplant physician, Dr. Colleen Delaney.
Stem cell transplantation physician Colleen Delaney, MD, MSc, and her lab have the expertise to engineer Natural Killer (NK) cells. She led development of a low-cost, standardized, highly scalable system for producing clinically available NK cells from stem cells in umbilical cord blood. These undifferentiated cells arise from healthy donors and have low risk of exposure to external toxins and infectious agents. This work draws on Dr. Delaney’s decades of experience working with hematopoietic stem cells and treating patients. Read more about Dr. Delaney’s Lab
